South San Diego Veterinary Hospital uses traditional and alternative treatments to provide gentle, effective health care for pets in San Diego, CA. We would love to get to know you and your furry friend!
Please call for an appointment for checkups, shots, and other non-emergency veterinarian services. You can save time by filling out forms about you and your pet beforehand.
Please phone to schedule your appointment during business hours (listed below). We will make every effort to see clients at the time of their appointment, but emergencies must take precedence. If you need to cancel, we request 24-hour notice.

Emergency Vet Clinic Information
We care for pets in emergencies, and we can help with problems including the following:
- Severe bleeding
- Choking
- Bleeding from the nose, mouth, rectum, or blood in the urine
- An inability to pass stool
- Eye injuries
- Suspected poisoning
- Seizures or staggering
- Fractured bones and joint injuries
- Extreme pain or anxiety
- Heatstroke
- Severe diarrhea or vomiting
- Refusal to drink
- Unconsciousness
We are happy to help pets in emergencies during our open hours but note that the hospital premises are not occupied 24 hours a day. Care is provided as necessary for the health and comfort of our patients based on need.
Veterinary Fees

From downtown San Diego:
Take Interstate 5 South past Chula Vista to the Coronado Avenue exit; turn left onto Coronado; go through two traffic lights, and we're on your left, on the corner of Madden Street.
From East County:
Take Interstate 805 South past Chula Vista to 905 West; take the Beyer Blvd. exit and turn right (north). The second traffic signal is Coronado Avenue; turn left and it's a 1/2 block up on your right, across from the Northgate Market.
